CAON-FED is an entity that was established through the Cotonou ACP-EU Partnership Agreement. Its role is to support the EDF National Authorising Officer to achieve optimal, efficient and effective mobilisation and management of cooperation funds between Cameroon and the European Union.

This support is provided by:

• Aligning the actions with the development strategy of Cameroon;
• Backstopping (interface, facilitation) the actors involved in the partnership with the European Union;
• Supporting stakeholders (quality, ownership) in the identification, formulation, implementation and monitoring-evaluation of interventions as part of the partnership strategy with the European Union;
• Ensuring proper visibility of the partnership.

As a key player of the National Authorising Officer’s system, CAON-FED is expected to continuously adapt to the changes in the partnership. For this reason, it seeks to face the challenge of “modernisation and performance of public action within a context of efficient management of available resources” on the basis of a performance contract.
