Campaign Story

(Regional and National Infrastructure Governance Support Programme for Central Africa)

To improve the sustainability of investments and scale up the effectiveness of regional and national economic infrastructure in the transport, energy and information technology sectors, through strengthened governance in these sectors.

Communes, populations.

PAGIRN is a regional programme financed by the RIP of the 11th EDF for Central Africa, for a total amount of 20 million euros. The Cameroon component of PAGIRN benefits from a financial envelope of 5.8 million euros (CFA 3.8 billion francs).

On the whole, the realisation of the Programme shall be structured around three main operational axes:

  • Strengthening the governance of transport infrastructure;
  • Strengthening the governance of energy infrastructure;
  • Strengthening the governance of information and communication technology infrastructure.

Within this context, the specific actions to be carried out in Cameroon include:

  • Long-term management of corridors and harmonisation of load control mechanisms
  • The establishment of an Observatory of Abnormal Practices (OAP) on the corridors
  • Road safety
  • Forecasting and planning ICTs in central Africa
